Last week the Climate Commission for UK Higher and Further Education Leaders board was launched with the aim of discovering ways to tackle the climate emergency. The event was attended by Dr David Llewellyn and David Nuttall, representing Harper Adams University and its catering team.

The event drew together members from the Association of Colleges, the EAUC, GuildHE, and Universities UK to begin the conversation between educational institutes, placing them at the forefront of working resolutions to environmental challenges. As part of #SustainableHarper, we are endeavouring to make our food and its containers more sustainable, introducing our reusable cups and using produce from our farm as two solutions.

Overall, the event was a great chance to hear the voices of students on climate change and how, as a university, we can champion the changes we want to see. With the UN Climate Summit happening in Glasgow in 2020, Harper Adams are working to be a leading voice in sustainability.
